Dr. Ravikumar after completing his engineering in Electronics and Communication worked in Indian Telephone Industries Ltd. as R & D engineer for ten years. During his stint at ITI, he also completed his Post graduation in Industrial Management, MBA from Central College, Bangalore University and PG Diploma in Software Engineering from Indian Institute of Science. Subsequently Dr. Ravikumar completed his PhD in the area of Management Studies. Since 1984 Dr.Ravikumar has been a serial entrepreneur in the area of electronics. He has served as President of Consortium of Electronics Industries of Karnataka during 1989-91. Dr. Ravikumar joined Rotary International through Rotary Bangalore Koramangala in 1988 and has served the club and district in several positions. Since 2002, his focus of service has been in the area of Avoidable Blindness (AB) providing eye-care services for the underprivileged. Apart from being a speaker on the AB topic at the Rotary clubs both in India and abroad, he has done several Matching / Global Grant AB projects under The Rotary Foundation worth over Rs.50 Million enabling over 30,000 cataract surgeries, 200 Children eye surgeries and distribution of 10,000 spectacles. He has been awarded Service above Self award, the highest in Rotary bestowed on a Rotarian for the services rendered.

Rtn. Dr.G.Venkatasubramaniam having done his MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, he did his Post graduation from Minto Ohthalmic Hospital in 2000 and Fellowship in Vitreoretina from RGUHS and FRCS from Glasgow. Dr Venkat currently the Medical Director of RANGALAKSHMII NETRALAYA, has over 20 + years of clinical & advanced retinal practice. His expertise relates to Cataract surgery by modern MICS and Phacoemulsification techniques including the latest FX technology and Super Lasik. His speciality interests are in diabetic retinal surgeries including retinal detachments. He also has expertise in Squint for children, Oculoplasty surgeries including artificial eye and orbital prosthesis. An ardent academician , he has the distinction of two gold medals - one in ophthalmology and the other in medicine. Dr. Venkat has initiated MOBILE DIABETIC RETINOPATHY SCREENING , in a house to house campaign for which he was featured in London Daily . Rtn. Dr. Venkat joined Rotary Bangalore Platinum City in 2015 as its Charter Member. He was president of his club in 2018-19. Has performed over 1500 free surgeries, screened over 45000 people and distributed over 1500 free glasses through his foundation. He has been serving in the District AB Committee as a member (2019-20) and Vice-Chairman (2020-21).

Rtn. Usha Medina

Rtn. Usha Medina is a graduate in Arts , a sports person who served as the captain of the basket ball, & Hockey teams for Karnataka University. Having chosen as the best Cadet, she represented Karnataka in the Republic day celebration in Delhi. Usha is an entrepreneur, manufacturing moulded customised high precision plastic components for over 25 years. She has been awarded for her achievements three consecutive years by AWAKE, Karnataka Government & KSFC. Usha is a passionate Rotarian since the time she joined Rotary through Rotary Bangalore Rajmahal Vilas in 1998. She has won numerous accolades for her work as President of her club and she has served in several district committees. She has been serving District AB Committee for several years in different positions. She is also a committee member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India which supports people affected with MS.

Rtn. Y.C.Roy

Rtn. Y.C. Roy is a Post Graduate Engineer with over 30 years of Corporate Experience. Roy worked with BITS-Pilani, Wipro Technologies, Valtech India, ITC Infotech, IBM, NIIT University , SRM University and currently the CEO of a start-up, Edyousearch.com. Service is in Roy’s blood as he started donating blood from the year 1991 and majorly to Thalassemia affected children. Roy became a Paul Harris Fellow (a donation of USD 1000 to “The Rotary Foundation”) even before he joined Rotary and he became a Level 1 Major Donor(a donation of USD 10000 to TRF) in the first year of his joining Rotary club of Bangalore Cubbonpark. Roy supports children with disability, helped few children for their heart surgeries. Roy is also a Covid warrior and took up a rigorous 18 day motorcycle trip to raise funds towards relief of Covid victims in December 2020. Roy was also instrumental in bringing a mobile eye clinic project to urban BPL citizens of Bengaluru through a Global Grants project of Rotary. Roy is currently, core committee member of the Rotary Avoidable Blindness Committee for District 3190.
